WINTER PARK – Kelvin Lawson, Florida A&M University Board of Trustees member and former three-term chairman of the board, will join Central Florida Business Leader John Crossman Saturday, November 25, on The Crossman Conversation, launched as a platform for guests who are leaders making a difference.
Lawson completed three terms serving as chair of FAMU’s Board of Trustees, and he has a professional career that has taken him across the country and around the world. Today he is Executive Vice President of Business Development for Channel Partners.
After graduating in 1985 from FAMU with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration, he started his career with a division of Bristol Myers. His years of professional experience include a vast background in both consumer packaging goods and sales agency organizations. He also sits on boards for Truist Bank, Boys and Girls Clubs and is founder of Knots 4 Kids, a mentoring group for young boys.
Notably Lawson was elected chairman three consecutive years by his peers – including Crossman — on the FAMU Board of Trustees. He previously served as chair of both Budget Finance and Facilities and Athletics Oversite committees. He is passionate about a mission that FAMU students and faculty should be a standout in the nation, not just among HBCUs.
Crossman, son of the late pastor and civil rights advocate Rev. Kenneth Crossman, launched the first ever real estate scholarships at FAMU. Both he and Chairman Lawson, regularly raise funds and awareness for the university.
“Kelvin Lawson has accomplished so much for FAMU during his leadership and we cover some of that in our conversation as well as highlights from his storied career,” said Crossman.
The Crossman Conversation podcast with Kelvin Lawson can be heard starting this Saturday Nov. 25 at 1:05 p.m. and on-demand at https://www.theshepherdradio.com/podcasts/the-crossman-conversation/
