The Battle is Over, but The Mission Continues

Tampa, FL, September 1, 2023 — The Mission Continues, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering veterans, is thrilled to announce the Tampa, Florida extension of its “United In Service” campaign. This initiative aims to honor the legacy of 9/11 through a series of veteran-led community service projects, with a special focus on Tampa’s under-resourced communities.

Local Leadership

The Tampa initiative is led by TJ Maria, a local army veteran and volunteer platoon leader for The Mission Continues. “TJ Maria’s leadership exemplifies the spirit of community and service that The Mission Continues stands for,” said James Gillen, Chief Development and Marketing Officer with The Mission Continues, who is also a Tampa Bay community member and an army veteran himself.

Event Details

The Tampa community is invited to join local first responders and veterans on September 9, 2023, at New Beginnings, a rehabilitation and homeless shelter for veterans. Participants will engage in various tasks aimed at revitalizing the facility, including constructing new seating, laying brick walkways, and organizing storage spaces.
